3.210 Retention

A middle school student who fails two or more core academic subjects (math, science, English, history, bible) for a given year will be considered for retention at the end of that year. The decision for retention will be made by school administration based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: academic achievement, student conduct, student age, and parent request. In the event that the student is promoted to the next grade level, he or she will be required to complete academic remediation during the summer as directed by school administration.

High school students who fail a core academic subject class will be required to take credit recovery over the summer as directed by school administration. A high school student who is unable to maintain academic progress for an on-time graduation will be recommended for mandatory withdrawal from Lakeway Christian Schools.
