Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines for optimal class sizes across grade levels to ensure high-quality instruction, equitable student support, and effective classroom management. Research consistently shows that smaller class sizes contribute to improved academic outcomes, stronger teacher-student relationships, and a more personalized learning environment. This policy aims to balance educational effectiveness with available resources and staffing.

Classes shall be limited to the following maximum sizes:

Some CTE classes may have course-specific size restrictions based on safety or equipment availability.

The Board may allow class size limits to be exceeded in such areas as physical education, instrumental and vocal music classes, and others if in its judgment the effectiveness of the instructional program in these areas is not impaired.
