4.604 Employee Conflicts of Interest

    The following guidelines are designed to assure the highest ethical standards for LCS. You are prohibited from:
    • Using your position or acting individually or jointly to obtain directly or indirectly a personal advantage or opportunity.
    • Accepting gifts, favors, or hospitality that might tend to influence your participation in the decision- making process. Any cash awards and gifts that are $100 or more in value are to be reported to the respective principal for accountability purposes.
    • Any association with another agency and/or competitor that might result in any conflict with the purposes, aims, or goals of LCS.
    Disclosure Requirement
    Employees must promptly disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest in writing to their supervisor or the Human Resources Department. The school will review the disclosure and determine whether the situation presents a conflict thta must be mitigated or avoided. 

    Failure to disclose or resolve a conflict of interest may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
