2.309 Commercial Insurance

    Policy Statement:

    Lakeway Christian Schools (LCS) is committed to maintaining adequate commercial insurance coverage to safeguard the interests of the school community. This policy provides a framework for the selection, management, and review of insurance coverage to mitigate risks associated with school operations.

    Insurance Coverage:

    LCS shall maintain commercial insurance coverage that is comprehensive and appropriate for the needs of the school. Insurance coverage may include, but is not limited to, the following types:
    • Property Insurance: To protect against damage or loss of school buildings, equipment, and other assets.
    • Liability Insurance: To provide coverage for claims or lawsuits arising from school operations, including general liability, professional liability, and other forms of liability.
    • Workers' Compensation Insurance: To provide coverage for work-related injuries or illnesses of school employees as required by applicable laws.
    • Automobile Insurance: To cover school-owned vehicles and liability related to school-sponsored transportation.
    • Cybersecurity Insurance: To protect against data breaches, cyberattacks, and related risks in an increasingly digital environment.
    • Student Accident Insurance: To provide coverage for accidental injuries to students while participating in school-related activities.
    • Other Insurance: LCS may secure additional insurance coverage as deemed necessary to mitigate specific risks.
