Performance Considerations
- Contract offers are contingent on satisfactory performance as determined by the most recent evaluation.
- Employees not meeting performance expectations may be placed on a performance improvement plan or may not be offered a contract for the following year.
- The Superintendent (or designee) is responsible for issuing contracts to eligible staff by the stated timeline.
- Contracts will include:
- Employment dates
- Position title
- Compensation
- Reporting structure
- Employment terms (e.g., full-time/part-time, exempt/non-exempt)
- Employees must sign and return contracts by the stated deadline.
- Failure to return a signed contract by the deadline may result in the offer being rescinded and the position declared vacant.
- Extensions may be granted at the discretion of the Superintendent in exceptional circumstances.
- Employees wishing to resign should provide written notice as early as possible, but no later than 30 days before the start of the new contract period.
- Non-renewal of contracts will be communicated in writing by the Supeintendent by the last day of school, unless otherwise stipulated in the employment contract.
- The Board of Directors is responsible for approving contracts for the Executive Director and Superintendent.
- Any significant changes to contract terms or the contract timeline must be approved by the Board.
