Valedictorian and Salutatorian To be eligible for either Valedictorian or Salutatorian, a student must be a full-time student at the school for both junior and senior years. The primary means of selection will be based on the final weighted GPA for courses listed on the transcript through the end of the student’s second semester of the senior year. Advanced courses taken outside of the school will not be weighted. In the event of a tie (calculated to four decimal places) the student with the most honors, AP, and Dual Enrollment classes will receive the award. If there is still a tie, the numerical average of courses listed on the transcript will be used as the second tiebreaker. The Valedictorian and Salutatorian will be honored at the graduation ceremony. As representatives of one of the highest honors of Lakeway Christian Schools, students who have a documented incidence of academic dishonesty in grades 9-12 will not be eligible for Valedictorian or Salutatorian.
Honors and High Honors Graduates Lakeway Christian Schools recognizes all seniors who have attained a 4.150 or higher grade point average (GPA) as High Honors graduates. LCS also recognizes seniors who maintain a 3.900 to 4.149 grade point average as Honors graduates. All calculations will be completed after the 7th semester is complete. Honors and High Honors Graduates will be recognized at graduation with signifying regalia.
