4.200 In-Service and Professional Learning Opportunities

    Lakeway Christian Schools is committed to the continuous professional growth and development of its faculty and staff. In-service days and professional learning opportunities are provided to enhance instructional practices, promote spiritual development, and ensure alignment with the school’s mission and academic goals.
    Scheduled In-Service Days
    • In-service days are scheduled throughout the academic year as outlined in the official school calendar.
    • Attendance at scheduled in-service days is mandatory for all instructional staff and other designated employees, unless prior approval for absence has been granted by administration.
    Professional Learning Opportunities
    • Employees are encouraged to pursue professional development that aligns with their roles and responsibilities.
    • Opportunities may include workshops, conferences, webinars, certifications, or courses relevant to education, child development, leadership, or faith-based teaching.
    Approval and Reimbursement
    • Participation in external professional development activities during work hours or requiring school funding must be pre-approved by the Superintendent or designee.
    • Reimbursement for approved professional development expenses (e.g., registration, travel, materials) is subject to budget availability and must be supported with proper documentation.
    • Staff may be asked to share insights or materials from training sessions with colleagues during faculty meetings or in-service days.
    Documentation
    • Employees are responsible for maintaining records of completed professional development and may be asked to submit documentation for licensure or evaluation purposes.
    Non-Instructional Staff
    • Professional development opportunities for non-instructional staff may be offered periodically based on departmental needs and goals.
    • Attendance at relevant training sessions may be required as determined by supervisors.
