4.704 Ethics
All employees share in the responsibility for observing biblical principles in their conduct. In general, the following applies to all employees: You must hold in strict confidence all information concerning students or school business and must not discuss it with persons not concerned with such information and certainly never with people outside the school who do not need the information. Your professional life is expected to be conducted to the highest biblical standards.
Christian Character and Conduct
As representatives of a Christian educational community, employees are expected to demonstrate Christ-like behavior and uphold biblical principles in both professional and personal life. Employees should strive to reflect the values found in Scripture, serving as role models for students, parents, and colleagues.
Professional Integrity
Employees must conduct themselves with honesty and fairness in all professional matters. This includes:
All employees must treat students, families, and colleagues with dignity and respect, valuing diversity within the body of Christ. Harassment, discrimination, gossip, or unkind behavior are inconsistent with the mission of Lakeway Christian Schools and will not be tolerated.
Accountability and Stewardship
Employees are accountable for their actions and are expected to fulfill their duties faithfully and responsibly. Each employee is a steward of the school’s mission and resources and should act in a way that brings honor to God and supports the school’s reputation and ministry.
Compliance with Laws and Policies
Employees must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as school policies and procedures. Ethical behavior includes obedience to both legal and biblical authority.
Reporting and Enforcement
Employees who become aware of conduct that violates this policy are encouraged to report the matter to their supervisor or the Superintendent. Reports will be handled discreetly and investigated appropriately. Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
