Initial Assignment
- Upon hire, employees are assigned to a specific position, department, and/or grade level based on their qualifications, experience, and the needs of the school.
- The terms of the initial assignment are outlined in the employee’s contract or appointment letter.
- The school administration may initiate a transfer of an employee to a different role, grade level, classroom, or department when it is determined to be in the best interest of the school.
- Reasons for such transfers may include, but are not limited to: changes in enrollment, staffing needs, program development, or performance considerations.
- When possible, the administration will provide advance notice and consult with the employee prior to implementing a transfer.
- Employees may request a transfer to a different position or assignment by submitting a written request to the Superintendent or their direct supervisor.
- Requests will be considered based on school needs, employee qualifications, and the availability of suitable positions. Approval is at the discretion of school administration.
- Submitting a request does not guarantee approval or reassignment.
- The administration may assign employees to temporary duties or roles to address short-term needs, such as covering staff absences or supporting special programs.
- Temporary assignments do not alter the terms of employment unless otherwise stated in writing.
- Any employee changes must be recorded on the Personnel Action Request Form and submitted to the Human Resources Department.
- All assignment or transfer decisions will be documented and communicated formally to the employee.
- Any changes to compensation, job description, or contract terms resulting from a transfer will be addressed at the time of reassignment.
