4.603 Professional Attire Expectations
PERSONAL APPEARANCE
At LCS a high degree of self-respect, modesty, and professionalism is expected in dress. Employees are expected to maintain an appropriate appearance that is businesslike, neat, and clean as determined by the requirements of each employee’s work area. Dress and appearance should not be offensive to others with whom an employee interacts throughout the workday. Neatness, cleanliness, modesty, and a demonstration of self-respect should be the guidelines. Jeans, of any color, are not considered appropriate, except for dress-down events which include Spirit Wear day. If in doubt about a specific item of clothing, don’t wear it. The faculty, staff and substitute teachers are not to dress more casually than the student and are encouraged to dress in a way which is both professional and supports a Christian testimony.

Below is a list of guidelines for appropriate dress for faculty, staff and substitute teachers:
- Dresses, jumpers, suits and skirts of knee length
- Blouses, sweaters, vests and or blazers are allowed
- No crop tops. No blouses or tops should be worn that expose the stomach.
- Pant suits and dressy slacks or slacks that are similar to those worn by students (no jean style casual pants). Hip hugger type pants are not acceptable. Dressy capri style pants may be worn.
- Leather pants/vests are not acceptable
- Avoid ultra-casual types of sandals. Flip-flops are not acceptable. Teachers are requested not to wear tennis shoes/sneakers except for outdoor activities or if medically necessary.
- Extremely tight clothing must be avoided
- Jeans may be worn only on special occasions as approved by the Principal
- No exposed piercings beyond the ear.
- No visible tattoos or body art which may be considered offensive
- PE teachers may wear clothing appropriate for their athletic responsibilities
