4.300 Employee Attendance
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of every position within the school. The Board of Directors expects all employees to fulfill their assigned work schedules, contribute to a dependable learning environment, and model responsibility and professionalism for students.

- Employees are expected to be present and on time for all assigned workdays, meetings, and required school functions.
- Each employee must adhere to the daily work schedule established by the Superintendent or immediate supervisor.
- Absences, tardiness, or early departures must be reported in accordance with school procedures and approved by the supervisor or administrator.
- Employees must notify their supervisor as soon as possible when an absence is necessary, preferably prior to the start of the workday.
- For planned absences (such as personal leave or professional development), employees must submit requests in advance according to school policy.
- Failure to provide timely notice may result in the absence being recorded as unexcused.
- Excessive or habitual absences, tardiness, or failure to adhere to scheduled work hours may result in corrective or disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
- Patterns of absenteeism that negatively affect instructional quality or operational effectiveness will be reviewed by administration.
- Leave benefits, including personal, sick, and professional leave, shall be defined in the Employee Handbook and approved by the Board.
- Employees are expected to use leave responsibly and in accordance with the school’s established procedures.
- Supervisors shall maintain accurate records of employee attendance and report concerns to the Superintendent.
- The Superintendent shall ensure that attendance data is reviewed annually to promote accountability and fairness in enforcement.
